I moved to the small town of Pell City a few years ago. Since I’ve always lived in the second largest county in Alabama, Mobile, It was hard to get used to everyone knowing everyone else in my new home town, except me.
I have an outgoing personality so it didn’t take me long to find a few friends. My husband, Sam and I searched for several weeks and finally found a church we both liked; one that had drums (Sam has always wanted to play the drums.)’ll never forget the couple in our Sunday School class who took us under their wings and made us feel welcome. We now call them, “friends.”
I’m sure there are many other scenarios that we can all relate to that have made us feel lonely. Loneliness is an emotion that we do not have to feel. It’s not of God. See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us His children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him. 1 John 3:1.
So, when everyone in Pell City is asking me, “Who Are You?”, my Heavenly Father is calling me His child.
