Do you ever have regrets? I know I do. There are times when we wish we had done something differently. Maybe we wonder what it would be like if we followed a dream we had when we were younger. The list could go on for hours but time doesn’t play favorites, it’s gone before we know it. The old saying, “Time waits for no man.”, seems to become even more real the older I get unlike when I was a kid, all that I had was time.
There is good news, though. You don’t have to keep regretting things you wished that you had done or done differently. Everyday is a new beginning filled with God’s promises that are new each morning. If you have given up on a child that is in jail for selling drugs, start making amends today. Tell that child of what great valuable he/she is and start supporting their recovery right now. If you have a dream of finishing a college degree, don’t put it off one more second – start today! Having regrets of ways that you have treated family members or friends can end this very moment. You don’t have to wait, just start where you are. Whether you are 25 or 85, if you are still alive, God has a purpose for you and a mission for you to accomplish.
Start over fresh and new each morning and if you fail, start fresh and new the next morning and if you fail again, start again the next day. Do you see where I am going with this? We are only obligated to take one day at a time, better yet, one hour – one minute at a time. We don’ have to live wondering what if. Start right where you are right now and begin again.
